How it started
NYLEFF (New York Law Enforcement Families Foundation) is a New York based 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that was founded by a NYPD spouse who was driven to enhance support and services available to Law Enforcement/First Responders and their families. Cara, an Associate Executive Director for an adult Day Program supporting young adults diagnosed with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities felt passionate about providing an atmosphere and environment for the families of NY’s finest protectors where they could reach out and receive ongoing support. The life as the family members of a Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders can be very challenging. Cara, with the assistance of co-founder Marlene and the support of the NPWA (National Police Wives Association) was able to formulate a charitable organization that would provide trainings, support sessions, education, family fun activities and more to assist the families of the brave men and women protecting our communities every day. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s officers and their families. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a measurable difference in the lives of others.
